2023-2024 School Bus Passes

The Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District will provide home-to-school transportation for students living beyond the distance established by the Board of Education.

Eligibility for Transportation
 
The following guidelines shall be used in providing home-to-school transportation for students who live beyond the following distance to/from their school of attendance. Distance is measured from the entrance of the school to points around the school, forming a circle with the established distance being the radius of the circle.
 
  • Elementary School - 1.75 Miles
  • Middle School - 2.25 Miles
  • High School - 3.25 Miles
 
Passes for the 2023-2024 school year will be issued annually, semester, one-way, or round-trip transportation. The pass will provide home-to-school/school-to-home, or one-way transportation as specified for each school day. Transportation shall be provided to elementary school students who would otherwise have to cross railroad tracks to walk to school/home.
 
Obtaining a Bus Pass for the 2023-2024 School Year
Out of an abundance of caution, we strongly encourage all families to apply for school bus transportation utilizing the form below. 
 
It is required to complete and submit Data Confirmation on the Aeries Portal before completing and submitting the bus pass application below:
 
Bus Pass Application:

The Transportation Department will continue to verify student eligibility and residence before issuing a bus pass. Please be sure to complete the Income Data Verification in your Aeries parent portal.

A separate bus pass application must be filled out for each student

Cómo obtener un pase de autobús para el año escolar 2023-2024

Aplicacion para Pase de Autobus: 

El Departamento de Transporte continuará verificando la elegibilidad del estudiante (gratis / reducido) antes de emitir un pase de autobús. Asegúrese de completar la Verificación de datos de ingresos en su portal para padres de Aeries.

Se debe completar una solicitud de pase de autobús separado para cada estudiante.

Dear Parent/Guardian,

For the 2023-24 school year, the Placentia- Yorba Linda Unified School District will offer free transportation for students who reside in the transportation-eligible zones. Please complete the online application for your new 2023-2024 school bus pass. For your convenience, the online bus application and bus schedules are available on the district website: www.pylusd.org/transportation

Please note:

  •       Students who are participating in sports, music, etc., or whose schedule is unknown may want to wait to apply for a pass until their schedule has been determined.
  •         We do not provide transportation for zero (0) period, after-school activities, or high school late start.

Beginning Monday, August 21st – The Bus Pass Office will have extended hours, opening at 8:00 a.m. and closing at 4:00 p.m. daily.

Our office will be closed on Friday, September 1st, and Monday, September 4th, 2023, in observance of Labor Day.

Para el año escolar 2023-24, el Distrito Escolar Unificado de Placentia-Yorba Linda ofrecerá transporte gratis para los estudiantes que residen en las zonas elegibles para el transporte. Complete la solicitud en línea para su nuevo pase de autobús. Para la comodidad, la solicitud de autobús y los horarios de los autobuses están disponibles en el sitio web del distrito:

Tenga en Cuenta:

  • Los estudiantes que participan en deportes, música, etc., o cuyo horario se desconoce, pueden querer esperar para comprar un pase hasta que se haya determinado su horario.
 
  • No proporcionamos transporte durante el período cero (0), actividades después de la escuela, o el comienzo tardío de la escuela secundaria.
 
A partir del Lunes 21 de Agosto, la oficina de pases de autobús tendrá un horario extendido que abrirá a las 8:00 a.m. y cerrará a las 4:00 p.m.

Nuestra oficina estará cerrada el Viernes 1 de Septiembre y el Lunes 4 de Septiembre de 2023 en observancia del Día Laboral.

Replacement/Lost Passes
 
If a bus pass is lost or damaged, it can be replaced for a fee of $10.00 along with a new picture of the student. This can be done at the bus pass office.

How Will Bus Passes Be Received
 
If you apply in person at the bus pass office, your pass will be received at the time you apply.
If you apply by mail or online, your pass will be mailed to the address provided on the application.  Please allow two weeks for delivery.
 
Misuse of Passes
 
Students attempting to use a lost, stolen, borrowed, or forged pass may lose their riding privileges for the remainder of the year. Passes may not be used by anyone other than the person it is issued to.
 
Forgotten Passes
 
Each bus driver maintains a "No Pass Log" on his or her bus. According to the student's grade level, they are able to ride the bus until they have forgotten their pass the following amount of times:
 
  • Elementary - 3 Warnings
  • Junior High - 2 Warnings
  • High School - 1 Warning
     
    After the student has exceeded their "grace" time, they may be denied transportation services.
