The Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District's Special Education Department is a division of Student Support Services that is responsible for the administration and supervision of Special Education services. Our department is committed to ensuring a high quality education through powerful learning opportunities aimed to equip each student for success now and in the future.  Our dedicated staff is committed to ensuring collaborative ownership of ALL students’ unique needs within the least restrictive environment. Our goal is to educate our students in order to positively impact their educational performance while fostering confidence, self-awareness, independence, connectedness, and self-advocacy skills to lead a fulfilling and self-determined life.

We provide a continuum of supports and services to students with disabilities who reside within the boundaries of PYLUSD. These services include specialized academic instruction and related services for children from birth to age 22 who are eligible for special education  according to the laws and regulations outlined by the state and federal government.  Refer to link on Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
