We are dedicated to….
- serving the educators, parents, and students of the PYLUSD by providing relevant and engaging professional development,
- modeling research-based best practices to include differentiation for gifted and talented students, English learners, and students in special education,
- and leading teams of colleagues in the advancement of curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
Professional Development Offerings
The PDA is the hub of PYLUSD professional development. There are two places you can go to see what we are offering for professional development: Teacher Sound Bytes
(updated once per week) and the course catalog in PDExpress (linked on the picture to the left).
Professional Development Credits
Brandman University’s School of Extended Education is pleased to offer 1 – 3 graduate-level professional development credits to teachers who have completed seminar coursework through the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District. The cost for this credit is $50 per credit. Registration for credit starts on May 15, 2016. Deadline to register is September 30, 2016. For every 15 hours of trainings you complete within the district, you can earn 1 unit.
CPR Course Offerings
Because of the mixed format (online and face-to-face), participants cannot sign up on PDExpress. If you are interested in signing up for a CPR course, a flyer is posted on the Teacher Sound Bytes for details on how to register with the coordinator of these courses.
