Community Service Graduation Requirement

The PYLUSD Community Service graduation requirement supports the belief that students benefit from the opportunity to make meaningful connections and enrich the lives of others by performing service for their community without receiving any external reward or financial benefit. This requirement is intended to assist students in becoming educated citizens within a safe and successful community.

This requirement involves students working on a VOLUNTARY basis in non-profit agencies, the public sector or educational institutions. 40 hours of completed community service is required by May 1st of your senior year.

Students are encouraged to start early!  Read the handbook linked below to learn more about this requirement.
