Corporate Gift Matching

Leverage Your Donation through Matching Gifts
 
Do you work for a company that will generously match cash donations made by an employee to a school or school district? If you work for or have retired from a company that offers gift matching, you may be able to DOUBLE or even TRIPLE your cash gift to a school in the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD).
 
Company matching gift programs give you the opportunity to help direct your company's charitable donations toward our schools. Here's how it normally works:
 
Step 1:
Check with your company's human resources or payroll department to see whether it offers a matching gift program. You can also click here to see if your company offers such a program.
 
Step 2:
Obtain a matching gift form from your company’s human resources or payroll office.
 
Step 3:
Follow your company's procedure on submitting your funds, filling out the appropriate forms to ensure that the match is donated.
 
Note: while PYLUSD is not a 501(c)(3), the district is a tax-exempt government agency. As such, charitable contributions to schools are treated, for tax purposes, the same as donations to 501(c)(3) organizations. Step 4:
Contact your school's principal to let him or her know the amount of your contribution, so he or she knows ahead of time to look for it.
 
Already made a donation? Not a problem. Most companies will match your gifts for up to 12 months after you've made your donation.
