California’s deficit: $41 billion last year
California this year: $1 billion below projected revenues
Cuts to education statewide: $11.6 billion

Impact to PYLUSD:
$1.3 million cut in 2001-2002 school year
$3.6 million cut in 2002-2003 school year
$4.7 million cut in 2003-2004 school year
$4.3 million cut in 2004-2005 school year
$3.7 million cut in 2005-2006 school year
$2.9 million cut in 2006-2007 school year
$2.0 million cut in 2007-2008 school year
$7.5 million cut in 2008-2009 school year
$5.5 million cut in 2008-2009 mid year
$5.5 million cut in 2008-2009 school year
$8.6 million cut in 2009-2010 school year
$44.1 million in total reductions

Current status
State funding has been reduced to the 2005-2006 levels.
$15 million is needed in reductions over the next 3 years
