PYLUSD Nurses

Welcome to the Health Services Website!

Your child’s health and safety are important to us. Acute and chronic health conditions may significantly impact your child’s ability to learn. Our goal is that all children will enjoy optimal health and thus be able to gain the most from their education.

At the start of each school year, a yellow health card is sent home for you to advise us of any health conditions your child may have. The school health record will be updated with the information that you provide. In addition, we invite you to call your child’s school nurse and discuss any health concerns you may have. We will work with you, your child’s physician and school staff on providing the best care for your child’s health needs during their school day.

Each school site has a designated health clerk that provides care for students in the health office on a part time basis. The health clerk is non-licensed; however, they have training in basic first aid and CPR. The Credentialed School Nurse works closely with the health clerk to optimize the wellness of all students.
