Board Goals

Dear PYLUSD Parents and Community:

At the start of each school year, the Board of Education approves the district goals and charges the superintendent and executive staff with mobilizing the district resources to achieve these goals. Over the course of the ensuing months, staff is actively engaged in evaluating current status related to the established goals, determining areas for improvement and/or future emphasis, and implementing programs/procedures to reach those goals.

The attached Monitoring Report reflect the diligent efforts of staff to provide a year-end status report to the school board and community on the accomplishments and current status of the sixteen identified board goals. These summaries include data obtained from parent and student surveys, state reports, achievement results and other assessment measures to provide the board with the necessary information to determine progress toward achieving these goals.

While the Executive Summaries clearly reflect the outstanding quality of our academic programs and staff, it remains our objective to move beyond the status quo and constantly pursue excellence at every level.
On behalf of the Executive Cabinet, the division directors, and our site administrators, we would like to express our sincere appreciation for the board's collaboration and support. We believe the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District has crafted a sound monitoring practice designed to provide a clear sense of direction and mutual vision for the future of our district.
