Melrose Elementary School held it's October Second Harvest fresh produce distribution this week. In addition to each family receiving nearly twenty to thirty pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables, they also received flu shots from Walgreens, canned and packaged food items courtesy of district administrators, and special this week, bags of school supplies for all of the Kindergarten and first grade McKinney Vento students! The children were thrilled with their new school supplies which were donated by PYLUSD partner K to College. District Trustee, Judi Carmona joined the fun and distributed clothing and stuffed animals collected from the H.I.S. Thrift Shop, to Melrose families. Parents and student were thrilled to participate in the event, and Valadez Middle School Academy students also showed up to volunteer their help! Thank you Valadez!
