Rebalancing of Trustee Area Map

In the 2017-2018 school year, the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) established by-trustee voting areas to ensure compliance with California legislation pertaining to school district and municipality election systems. Education Code section 5019.5(b) requires that the boundaries of the trustee areas be adjusted by the governing board of each district before the first day of March of the year following the year in which the results of each decennial census are released.

Davis Demographics, the district's independent demographer, has created two proposed rebalanced maps (pictured below) to comply with the California Voting Rights Act. The proposed maps are displayed below.

In alignment with PYLUSD Advantage Focus Area 3.0, Engaged Community, the Board of Education appreciates feedback regarding the proposed maps. Feedback was collected from December 15, 2021, through Sunday, January 2, 2022, at 11:59 p.m. Feedback will not be publicly posted, but it was shared with Trustees and appropriate district personnel.
