Career Technical education is engaging students to help them find a direction in a path for Futures what is Career Technical education today CTE has evolved from a limited number of vocational programs available to turn of the century into a broad system that income is a variety of challenging fields in diverse subject areas the Unified School District in a wide range of fields from tradition woodworking construction engineering and Manufacturing to High Tech Career Pathways involving computers networking photography video production and Healthcare education this is a look at the programs available today at pylusd schools cell tech is a program for people who are interested in technology the four pathways are arts and Communications computer science business and in the 20 Science and Technology because deltek is so big and Broad it gives students a chance to do more there more class in that they can take there's more there's more technology the digital media arts academy is so important because it gives student the passion for technology the opportunity to work together anything in this industry that you want to be you can't just because of this class the students are working towards a teacher so they wanted me to as they feel like they have a real purpose it's just going to be asking what you think you could never do you can tell stories and create on the where this Academy is for you  what do we have here at Esperanza so we call the engineering and Manufacturing Academy It's a combination of courses and drafting CAD Cam and Manufacturing to help me not Lane everyday life but through this I found out what am I doing college and I've decided to become a mechanical engineer it is showing me that I can do things that I never thought I'd be able to do I can work with metal I can work with cat and cam programs I can run cmt's and it's all stuff that most kids don't even get the chance to do when I'm 17 and I can do it all geta with stands building industry Technology Academy is a program for students freshmen through seniors that get entry-level through apprenticeship type in the construction field we do all sorts of different types of projects from small project for the lower level two complex projects for campus modifications and stuff like that on the upper levels medical Sciences Academy as a program that offers students opportunities that they would never have in another setting these are students that may want to go into the healthcare they may want to go into public service firefighting I've learned many skills pacifically skills that get to the medical field and I've learned Vital Signs I've learned CPR Highland first aid it changed my life it turned my whole academics around I go to Fullerton College and I'm a nursing major and none of that would have been possible if it wasn't for this Academy the cabinet making Woodward Academy is important program here at El Dorado high school we have a three-year program designed for students to come in with absolutely no woodworking experience whatsoever they will leave this program with the skills Siri to get an entry level position in the cabinet making in woodworking Industries they can take a lot of the skills that they learn in their academic classes now they get to apply them and Conquest it also gives some students a home in the school when they take a class like this they feel like they have a sense of belonging what's on learning in an actual work environment provides students with opportunities to experience the real world this is today's Career and Technical education and these opportunities are available a placentia-yorba Linda Unified High Schools
