PARENTS AND EMPLOYEES - Transportation of High School Students - By Parents/Employees

Parents and Employees: Individuals who transport High School students (other than their children) to and or from District-sponsored events must complete and submit a driver registration form to the Risk Management department (see the attached form, Driving Instructions & School Driver Registration Form). This form MUST be submitted TWO WEEKS BEFORE driving students.

Students: Students holding a Provisional License may not drive any other students at any time.
Students holding a provisional driver’s license may not drive between 11 pm and 5 am.
For additional information please refer to  Provisional Licensing and Teen Driver Tips

The Driving Instructions & School Driver Registration Form CANNOT be used for PYLUSD elementary and middle school field trips. District policy states students must ride to and from field trips on District-approved transportation. There may be limited exceptions due to emergencies which must be approved by the applicable Principal or Designee.

District Employees:  An Official DMV Driving Record is required for all employees who transport students. Please complete the DMV Authorization for Release of Driver Record Information Form and bring it with your current California Driver’s License to Risk Management to be submitted to the DMV. Once the DMV has received and processed your information and added you to the PYLUSD database you will be cleared to drive students, not before. NOTE: No PYLUSD employee is authorized to drive students without this clearance.
