Community Advisory Committee (CAC)

What is the CAC?

The CAC serves as an advisory board to review and help develop the Local Plan for Special Education required under EC Sec 56190. The CAC recommends annual priorities to be addressed by the SELPA, encourages community involvement, assists in parent education and provides support to families with children in special education.  The Community Advisory Committee (CAC) is made up of family members, school staff and agency representatives. The CAC facilitates the communication and exchange of information between schools and families, advises the administration of the SELPA (Special Education Local Plan Area) regarding their concerns and collaborates to solve them.  CAC promotes activities that benefit students with disabilities and sponsors training for parents of children with disabilities.
