Graduate Performance Standards for College and Career Readiness
PYLUSD defines college and career ready as having the knowledge and skills necessary for success in postsecondary education and economically viable career pathways in a 21st century economy.

Ready for College -- to prepare students to be future ready, PYLUSD graduates will . . .
  • Engage in relevant literacy through proficiency in numeracy, reading, writing, listening and speaking.
  • Employ proficient and responsible use of digital media to effectively communicate, synthesize, and create new knowledge.
  • Problem solve and critically analyze with determination to take risks, learn from mistakes, and adapt new thinking.
  • Determine validity and relevance of information resources in the development of research skills.
  • UC a-g requirements met with a grade of “C” or better EAP “Ready for College” in ELA and Math
  • Proficient CAHSEE
  • Completed all PYLUSD graduation requirements

  • Connect and correlate applied knowledge and 21st century skills continuously through real-world experiences in reading, writing, mathematics, science, social science, the arts.
  • Construct new ideas through original and innovative projects and activities.
  • Exhibit vision for personal learning and forward thinking to prepare for the future.
  • Understand and adapt responsibly to a changing global community.
