Promise Programs: Free College Tuition

What is the Promise?

The California College Promise Grant (CCPG), formerly known as the Board of Governors Fee Waiver, is a state program that waives enrollment fees for qualifying students at California Community Colleges. The CCPG is for California residents, eligible AB 540 students and eligible AB 1899 students, as determined by the Admissions & Records office.

Students may qualify for the Promise Program after high school graduation. Make sure to check with your community college as all eligibility requirements will vary.

Students are still required to meet all transfer requirements. Find out if your Community College course transfers to your desired University at assist.org. It is always best to meet with your College's transfer center to receive guidance in planning your transfer journey.
