Placentia, Calif. (September 30, 2021): Earlier this morning, Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) administrators were made aware of a non-credible threat towards Yorba Linda High School (YLHS) on social media. In following established safety protocols, and out of an abundance of caution, the district immediately involved the Orange County Sheriff’s Department (OCSD), who has since deemed the threat non-credible and has assured the district that the Yorba Linda High School campus is safe and secure.
In PYLUSD, the safety and security of students and staff is the number one priority. The district takes any and all concerns very seriously and also makes every effort to communicate accurate and factual information in a timely manner, while respecting the integrity of the police department’s investigation.
The district would like to thank OCSD for their ongoing support and partnership. We would also like to thank our students, staff, and families for their vigilance in reporting concerns through text-a-tip lines or other forms of communication with their schools. This situation has provided us with an important reminder: If you see something, say something. We must all do our part in creating a safe and nurturing learning environment for students in the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District.

Placentia, California (30 de septiembre de 2021): A principios de esta mañana, los administradores del Distrito Escolar Unificado de Placentia Yorba Linda (PYLUSD) fueron informados de una amenaza no creíble hacia la Escuela Secundaria Yorba Linda (YLHS) en las redes sociales. Al seguir los protocolos de seguridad establecidos, y por precaución, el distrito involucró de inmediato al Departamento del Sheriff del Condado de Orange (OCSD), quien desde entonces ha considerado que la amenaza no es creíble y ha asegurado al distrito que el campus de la Escuela Preparatoria Yorba Linda es seguro y a salvo
En PYLUSD, la seguridad y protección de los estudiantes y el personal es la prioridad número uno. El distrito toma todas y cada una de las preocupaciones muy en serio y también hace todo lo posible para comunicar información precisa y objetiva de manera oportuna, respetando la integridad de la investigación del departamento de policía.
El distrito quisiera agradecer a OCSD por su continuo apoyo y asociación. También nos gustaría agradecer a nuestros estudiantes, personal y familias por su vigilancia al informar inquietudes a través de líneas de mensajes de texto u otras formas de comunicación con sus escuelas. Esta situación nos ha proporcionado un recordatorio importante: si ve algo, dígalo. Todos debemos hacer nuestra parte para crear un entorno de aprendizaje seguro y enriquecedor para los estudiantes del Distrito Escolar Unificado Placentia Yorba Linda.
