Throughout our end-of-the-year season of celebration, I was also consistently reminded of the positive, impactful role our schools, staff, and district-wide community plays in preparing our students for success now and in the future.
Rather than echoing these observations entirely in my own words, I put the district’s two 2016-17 Student Board of Education Representatives, Elizabeth (Lizzy) Yin and Adam Carrillo, up to the task. Both Lizzy (Valencia HS) and Adam (Yorba Linda HS) attended school in the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) for 13 years -- kindergarten through 12th grade -- and just recently graduated with the Class of 2017.
Although college quickly approaches for the students, Adam and Lizzy were eager to reflect upon their years in the district and to offer words of advice to all PYLUSD students -- now and in the future.
