Learning Link

A Learning Link Program is an interactive center for parents and their children from birth to five years of age (0-5). This is a parent and child program, and both attend sessions together. The program focuses on Kindergarten Readiness by linking the following: Early Education, Family Support, Parent/Child Interaction, Language Development, and Health and Wellness.

The goal of a Learning Link program is to provide an accessible and creative learning environment to help young children be more academically prepared for kindergarten and to help parents become their child's first teacher.  The Learning Link offers various hands-on academic learning centers for children and their parents, as well as educational toys to stimulate young minds and encourage parent-child interaction.  All activities align with the latest research on early care and education and with state educational standards.

The Learning Link is a valuable resource to the community, as it’s a place where parents with babies and young children can gather to play in a developmentally appropriate social setting designed specifically with their needs in mind.

Each session is 1.5 hours/limited to 12 families per session, and include:

  • An interactive center for parents and their children ages 0-5
  • Activities are designed by the early learning team
  • Circle time, stories, music, and other activities during the interactive sessions
  • Outdoor Link Area with blocks and large motor activities
  • Structured and unstructured activities that are customized to the child's age and developmental level
  • Information and referrals to preschool programs, community resources, including developmental health screenings
