Community Advisory Committee (CAC)
The Community Advisory Committee (CAC) is made up of family members, school staff, and agency representatives. It serves as an advisory board to the Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA), facilitating communication between schools and families, advising on concerns, and collaborating to address them. The CAC reviews and helps develop the Local Plan for Special Education required under EC Sec 56190, recommends annual priorities for the SELPA, promotes activities that benefit students with disabilities, sponsors parent training, encourages community involvement, and provides support to families with children in special education.
