English Language Proficiency Requirements
Although the PYLUSD does not require English language fluency, international students are expected to have an English proficiency level of Advanced Intermediate or higher. In our high schools, all classes/subjects are taught in English. Students are expected to maintain a minimum 3.0 grade point average during their enrollment in the International Student Program.
As part of the application process, potential international students will be asked to provide English Proficiency Test results. See the document on this page for accepted tests and scores. Students who meet the minimum test score requirement will be contacted to participate in a virtual interview with the International Student Program coordinator. The interview is informal and serves as an opportunity for the program coordinator to meet potential students, provide information about our schools, and answer questions the student may have.
